WINTER 2010
| The year is 1850. We are about to set sail on a ship to head out into the world to make our fortune. While doing so, we travel around the globe on our trek to hunt whales.
During this class, we will visit various places, including the Galapagos, Hawaii, Japan, Alaska and Cape Verde, and do art projects related to the area we are exploring.
Students will learn about different kinds of whales and why they are so valuable to the crew. A discussion about how people almost caused the extinction of the planet's largest sea mammals is included.
